Team Lead, Transfer Pricing

Job Grade: SBO
Reports to: Group Head of Tax Management
Job Overview: To manage the Group's transfer pricing framework and ensure compliance with applicable transfer pricing regulations and international standards such as the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development Transfer Pricing Guidelines across all jurisdictions where the Group operates.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Develop, maintain, and update Group-wide Transfer Pricing (TP) policies in line with business strategy and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
- Ensure all Group entities comply with transfer pricing regulations issued by tax authorities
- Prepare and file Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting in accordance with regulatory timelines
- Review annual TP documentation including: Master File, Local Files and Country-by-Country reports
- Ensure TP documentation is updated annually and meets regulatory requirements
- Monitor transfer pricing regulations across jurisdictions and update internal policies accordingly
Intercompany Transactions Management
Review and analyse all intercompany transactions within the Group including:
- Management Service charges
- Shares Service Cost
- Financing arrangements
- Intellectual Property charges
- Develop pricing templates and ensure proper transfer pricing methodologies are applied
- Ensure intercompany transactions follow the arm's length principle
- Develop TP compliance processes, procedures and checklists for ongoing monitoring
- Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure consistent implementation of TP policies
Audit, Tax Planning & Advisory
- Review the transfer pricing framework for tax leakages and optimisation opportunities
- Provide TP advisory support for:
- Cross-border transactions
- New business structures
- Group reorganizations
- Coordinate responses to transfer pricing audits and tax authority enquiries
- Maintain relationships with tax authorities across jurisdictions
- Prepare monthly TP accruals and review quarterly head office charge invoices
- Conduct periodic transfer pricing risk assessments across Group entities
Requirements
Skills/Competencies
- Strong knowledge of TP regulations and OECD guidelines
- Extensive understanding of the Tax regime in Africa
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Stakeholder management skills
Academic Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
- Professional certification - ICAN, ACCA, CITN or equivalent
- 4 - 5 Years experience in
- Transfer Pricing
- Tax Advisory
- Corporate tax within the banking or financial services or consulting, preferably with a multinational or the Big 4 firms is highly desirable
