Tailor

Responsibilities:

Corset Construction:

• Cut, join, and sew corsets, corset dresses, and corset tops
• Insert boning, busks, eyelets, and zippers correctly
• Shape and structure bodices for perfect waist cinching and support
• Do fitting alterations to achieve a flawless silhouette
• Work with fabrics: duchess satin, mesh, lace, brocade, leather

Bespoke Garment Making:

• Take measurements and interpret client briefs + designer sketches
• Cut and join bespoke pieces: gowns, 2-piece sets
• Handle advanced sewing techniques: darts, pleats, padding, lining, hand-finishing
• Ensure every piece has clean seams, neat hemming, and a luxury finish
• Do final fitting and make adjustments for the client

Quality & Production:

• Join parts of garments neatly: sleeves, bodice, panels, lining
• Maintain consistency in stitching, tension, and finishing
• Meet production deadlines for bridal, events, and client orders
• Report fabric shortages or faulty equipment

Workshop Duties:

• Maintain sewing machines, scissors, and tools
• Keep workspace clean and organized
• Collaborate with cutters, finishers, and beaders

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years as a Joiner/Tailor with proven corset and bespoke experience. Portfolio required
• Expert in corsetry: boning, paneling, fitting, and waist reduction techniques
• Strong pattern interpretation and adjustment skills
• Mastery of industrial straight machine, overlocker, and hand sewing
• Good knowledge of fabrics and structure
• Ability to sew both female bespoke and male bespoke is an advantage
• Creative eye, patience, and pride in fine details
