Job summary
The assistant supply chain officer provides administrative, operational, and logistical support to the supply chain team to ensure the smooth and efficient supply of fresh produce from suppliers and farmers to customers. The assistant supply chain officer supports the supply chain officer with managing inventory, procurement, and logistics.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating, reviewing, and issuing purchase orders while managing all related documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and vendor communications.
- Maintain and update inventory records within internal systems.
- Process goods received, ensuring completeness and accuracy against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Support the troubleshooting of customer issues related to product supply, availability, or quality.
- Support all operational activities, including planning, sourcing, storage, transport, shipping, customs clearance, asset management, and fleet coordination.
- Assist the supply chain officer in preparing regular reports for the department.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND in supply chain, procurement, or a relevant field.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in supply chain operations and logistics in the agricultural space.
