Job summary
We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly responsible Superintendent Pharmacist to provide professional, regulatory, and compliance oversight for the company's pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:
Regulatory Liaison & Representation:
- Act as the company's designated professional liaison with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other relevant health regulatory authorities, including NAFDAC, where applicable.
- Coordinate regulatory engagements, inspections, correspondence, and compliance activities.
- Keep management informed of relevant regulatory requirements and changes affecting pharmacy operations.
Licensing & Compliance:
- Coordinate the acquisition, renewal, and maintenance of all required pharmacy licences, premises registrations, and regulatory certificates.
- Ensure the validity and proper documentation of practising licences and other required credentials for pharmacists.
- Maintain accurate regulatory records and documentation.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and ensure identified compliance issues are promptly addressed.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Develop, review, update, and implement company-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering: Pharmaceutical procurement, receiving and inspection of medicines, Storage and inventory management, Dispensing and patient care, Handling of prescription-only medicines, Pharmaceutical waste and disposal, and Controlled and regulated medicines management
- Ensure pharmacy staff understand and consistently comply with approved SOPs.
- Periodically review SOPs to ensure continued relevance and compliance.
Professional & Ethical Oversight:
- Ensure all pharmacy operations are conducted within applicable legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
- Monitor pharmacy outlets for compliance with professional and ethical requirements.
- Conduct or coordinate periodic compliance audits and inspections.
- Monitor the pharmaceutical procurement chain to reduce the risk of counterfeit, falsified, expired, or substandard medicines entering the business.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, professional integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Controlled Medicines & Regulated Products:
- Provide professional oversight of the procurement, storage, dispensing, documentation, and reporting of controlled drugs and other regulated pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure appropriate registers and records are accurately maintained.
- Monitor compliance with applicable requirements relating to narcotics, controlled substances, and regulated chemicals.
- Ensure mandatory reports and regulatory documentation are completed and submitted as required.
Requirements:
- B.Pharm or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.
- Must be duly registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Must possess a valid practising licence and meet applicable requirements for appointment as Superintendent Pharmacist.
- Relevant experience in community pharmacy, retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical operations, or regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, professional ethics, licensing, and pharmaceutical compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy staff, management, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
