We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Student Recruitment Officer to join our dynamic Recruitment & Admissions team in Lagos, Nigeria. Reporting directly to the Recruitment & Admissions Office Manager - Nigeria, you will be instrumental in attracting, engaging, and successfully converting prospective students into our university programs. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for higher education, a keen understanding of sales and marketing principles, and a commitment to providing an exceptional student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Engagement & Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with prospective students by actively listening to their needs and interests, providing personalized guidance, and ensuring a positive and memorable journey from inquiry to enrolment.
- Lead Management & Follow-up: Act as the primary point-of-contact for admissions enquiries. Efficiently call, follow up, and manage all assigned leads, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information within the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system (e.g., TAG CRM). Respond to all admissions enquiries within 24 working hours.
- Admissions Guidance & Support: Offer comprehensive advice on program choices and the admissions process, ensuring applicants have all necessary information to make informed decisions. Guide international students and their parents, articulating the value of a university degree.
- Recruitment Events & Activities: Support and actively participate in the planning and execution of education fairs, open days, campus events, tours, school visits, and presentations to effectively generate interest and drive student recruitment.
- Applications Management: Facilitate the submission of complete application documents. Proactively follow up on offers, explain details, and convert offer holders. Analyze applicant pools to manage the application pipeline and achieve quality targets.
- Conversion & Enrolment Drive: Strategically drive conversion at every stage of the pipeline. Develop and implement conversion plans in collaboration with the Line Manager to ensure high enrolment rates. Re-engage unresponsive leads and support new students through induction and orientation.
- Reporting: Submit regular work plans and detailed call center and conversion reports (weekly and monthly) to the Line Manager.
Required Competencies:Educational Qualifications:
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is essential.
- Professional Certification in Sales, Marketing, and/or Customer Service is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies:
- Proven working knowledge of the Higher Education system, including recruitment cycles and admission requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of university’s program portfolio and student recruitment processes.
- Awareness of cultural differences and their impact on student recruitment and marketing.
- Familiarity with the business education market and finance education sector.
- Significant experience in sales, marketing, and customer care, with demonstrated application of sales, engagement, and conversion techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM databases, and general internet usage.
Planning and Organizing Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in planning, prioritizing, and organizing work effectively on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, both individually and as part of a team, while managing resources and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to develop evidence-based operational recruitment plans and campaigns.
- Good project management and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Communication Skills:
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, and convey complex information clearly and tactfully to diverse audiences.
- Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
Initiative and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Experience in using initiative and creativity to resolve predictable yet non-routine problems, identifying practical and suitable solutions.
