Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance software features across our product suite: HealthSchedule, LabConnect, PharmaDesk, DentaFlow, ImagingHub, and MedSupply.
  • Write clean, well-documented, modular, and maintainable code aligned with established engineering standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to translate business requirements and wireframes into robust, user-centred technical solutions.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback to peers while maintaining a high bar for overall code quality across the team.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks across development, staging, and live production environments in a timely and systematic manner.
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that are secure, scalable, and optimised for performance.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, laboratory systems, pharmacy management tools, and healthcare data standards (such as HL7 or FHIR) where applicable.
  • Contribute actively to technical documentation, architectural decision records (ADRs), sprint planning sessions, and agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews).
  • Ensure that all developed software complies with the relevant data security standards in Nigeria
  • Data Protection Act (NDPA), and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies and proactively recommend improvements to the technical stack, architecture, or engineering processes.

Requirements:
  • B.Sc/HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of professional, production-grade software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Python, PHP, or Java.
  • Demonstrated experience with frontend frameworks: React.js, Next.js, or Vue.js.
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and management (PostgreSQL, MySQL); experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerisation (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with version control using Git and collaborative development workflows (pull requests, branching strategies).
  • Understanding of data security principles, encryption standards, and healthcare compliance frameworks; NDPC/NDPA knowledge is advantageous.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment; comfortable with iterative development and sprint-based delivery.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with health informatics standards such as HL7, FHIR, or DICOM.
  • Exposure to mobile development frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
  • Prior experience in a health-tech, fintech, or enterprise SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

Remuneration: NGN  300,000 - 500,000 Monthly  (commensurate with experience)
