Social Media Intern
Job summary
The Social Media Manager will be responsible for building, managing, and growing NextGen Leadership Foundation’s digital presence across all social media platforms. This role is key to telling our story, engaging our community, amplifying our impact, and driving awareness for our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate is creative, organised, passionate about youth development, and understands how to use digital media to inspire, educate, and mobilise young people.

Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Creation:
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the foundation’s mission and goals
- Create engaging content (graphics, captions, videos, reels, stories, carousels) for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and TikTok
- Manage content calendar and ensure consistent posting
Community Engagement:
- Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner
- Build and nurture an active online community of students, parents, educators, volunteers, and partners
- Encourage conversations around leadership, values, and youth development
Brand Storytelling:
- Showcase impact stories, student testimonies, program highlights, and events
- Capture and share behind-the-scenes moments and field activities
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity
Campaigns & Promotions:
- Promote programs, events, training, and initiatives
- Support fundraising and partnership campaigns
- Collaborate with the communications and program teams on major campaigns
Analytics & Reporting:
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth)
- Provide monthly performance reports and insights
- Recommend improvements based on data and trends
Requirements:
- 0-1 year of proven experience managing social media for a brand, nonprofit, or organisation
- HND/B.Sc academic qualification
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Ability to create or coordinate basic graphic and video content (Canva, CapCut, etc.)
- Understanding of social media trends and youth culture
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Passion for leadership development and youth empowerment

Desirable Skills:
- Photography and video editing skills

Remuneration: NGN 100,000 - 150,000
