Cobbler

Responsibilities:

• Repair, restore, and improve footwear and leather goods to ensure durability, comfort, and customer satisfaction.
• EvaluatE damaged or worn shoes, recommending appropriate solutions
• Deliver high-quality craftsmanship that enhances both appearance and functionality.
• Perform detailed work using various tools and machinery to replace soles, heels, insoles, and zippers; stitch torn leather or fabric; reinforce weak areas
• Adjust footwear for a better fit.
• Cleaning, polishing, coloring, waterproofing, reshaping, deodorizing, and accessory adjustments.
• Repairing or modifying other leather products such as belts, handbags, purses, wallets, and luggage items.
• Customer service is a vital part of the job; interact directly with clients to understand their needs
• Provide pricing and timelines, and ensure customer satisfaction with every completed repair.
• Proper organization of customer orders, record keeping, and accurate handling of cash or POS transactions are required.
• Maintaining a clean and safe workshop space while caring for tools and machinery supports efficient and high-quality service delivery.

Requirements:

• Must possess good experience in shoe repair, gained through apprenticeship or vocational training in leather craftsmanship.
• Manual dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina for standing long hours are essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity help manage unique or complex repair requests.
• Good communication, honesty, and a friendly attitude build trust with customers and support repeat business.
• Attention to detail is important to ensure neat, durable, and attractive repairs.
• Must be dependable, self-motivated, and passionate about craftsmanship. Basic literacy for record keeping and pricing is required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of cobbler tools is necessary for effective job performance.
