SEO Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement SEO strategies across multiple client websites.
• Perform detailed keyword research, site audits, link building (white-hat), and competitor analysis.
• Build monthly and quarterly SEO reports using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and SEMrush.
• Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with developers to fix them.
• Optimize site structure, internal linking, metadata, and content.
• Plan and execute local SEO (GEO) strategies for businesses across multiple regions.
• Manage WordPress websites (themes, plugins, backups, analytics, and SEO configuration).
• Use AI tools strategically for content outlines, competitor comparisons, and data visualization.
• Stay current on Google algorithm updates, AI search integrations (SGE, Gemini, etc.), and how they affect SEO results.
• Collaborate with the content and design teams to ensure unified SEO execution.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience.
• Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, and Screaming Frog.
• Experience optimizing WordPress websites for SEO (Yoast, Rank Math, structured data, etc.).
• Ability to create insightful, detailed SEO reports.
• Excellent written English—clear, concise, and grammatically correct.
• Comfortable working independently and under deadlines.
• High attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with a growth-oriented approach.
  
• Love solving problems and finding insights others miss.
• Are disciplined and reliable. You hit your deadlines and own your outcomes without anyone micro-managing you.
• Can explain technical topics simply and clearly for a non-techie to understand.
• Are curious about AI in general and how AI is transforming SEO and marketing.
• Are honest. This is very important. We would rather see your genuine work than polished AI fluff.

Remuneration: NGN 200,000 –  250,000 (Pay will reflect the potential contribution and the impact you can bring, which may, in some cases, go beyond the range stated for the right candidate.)
