Nurse

Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

• Deliver specialized nursing care to patients with complex or critical conditions
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapy, wound management, and advanced procedures per protocol
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide direction to the care team

Leadership & Supervision:

• Act as nurse-in-charge during assigned shifts; delegate tasks and manage patient assignments
• Supervise, mentor, and support staff nurses, student nurses, and healthcare assistants
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training/development needs for team members
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and optimal skill mix in the unit

Quality & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with NMCN and hospital standards
• Implement infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical governance policies
• Lead quality audits, incident reporting, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Monitor and manage ward equipment, supplies, and medication inventory

Communication & Advocacy:

• Coordinate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support services
• Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, and health promotion
• Advocate for patient rights, dignity, privacy, and informed consent
• Handle complaints and escalate critical issues to management

Training & Development:

• Orient new staff and precept student nurses
• Facilitate in-service training and continuous professional development
• Stay current with clinical best practices and regulatory changes

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Diploma
• 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
