The Senior Financial Accountant will play a critical role in managing tax, insurance, legal matters, financial reporting, and documentation across the organization. The role demands strong financial acumen, compliance expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure the fiscal health and legal integrity of the entire group.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Result Areas (KRA)

  • Liaising with all statutory government sections, i.e., federal inland revenue service (FIRS), local government, ABIYS, etc.
  • Coordinate with auditors for external and internal audits.
  • Guide the account team in regards to posting from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigation processes for the group. Collaborate with legal teams, oversee legal documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that physical and digital documentation is stored properly for easy retrieval.
  • Oversee tax compliance and insurance matters for the entire group. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, liaise with tax authorities, and manage insurance policies effectively.
  • Prepare comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) reports.
  • Liaising with government agencies as regards to FIRS, ABIYS, Local government agencies, and any others as may concern.
  • Keep Books and documents for all financial transactions and commitments. 
  • Evaluating and managing risk.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Finance and Accounting or related field; MBA or advanced degree in Accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA
  • 10 years of Solid knowledge of all other finance operations including treasury, payments, accounting for foreign exchange transactions, and controls in high-volume manufacturing with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong analytical skill set both numerical as well as legal.
  • Advanced computer software skills, especially Excel (ability to work with complex formulas), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • A strong combination of technical, leadership, written & oral communication, team collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in managing projects & programs and maintaining metrics.
  • Well-versed with SAP / ERP Accounting Package.
  • As per the need of the business, the job is transferrable and posting can be made anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa.
