Job summary
The Senior Compliance Officer (SCO) will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s compliance framework across multiple business units. This role ensures that all operations, transactions, and strategic initiatives comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Responsibilities:
Compliance Program Leadership:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide compliance programs across all business lines.
- Monitor regulatory developments and update compliance frameworks in line with evolving laws and industry standards.
Regulatory Oversight & Engagement:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable local and international regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulators and oversee regulatory communications, reviews, and examinations.
Risk Assessment & Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and regulatory risks across operations.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses.
Policy Development & Training:
- Develop, review, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Lead compliance training and awareness programs for employees and management.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare periodic compliance reports for senior management and the Board.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of compliance activities, findings, and remediation actions.
Investigations & Enforcement:
- Lead and oversee internal investigations related to compliance breaches or regulatory concerns.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions, ensuring timely follow-up.
Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Provide ongoing compliance advisory support to executive leadership and business teams.
- Communicate regulatory expectations, updates, and compliance obligations across the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- ACAMS certification is compulsory.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Location: Remote (Lagos).
Remuneration: NGN 700,000
