Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across all business units and locations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and periodic financial statements.
- Produce quarterly and annual financial reports for management review.
- Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance across entities.
- Ensure timely bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and payroll reviews.
Budgeting & Financial Planning:
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Track budget performance and provide recommendations for cost control and operational efficiency.
- Support management with financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Assist with financial planning and resource allocation across business units.
Tax, Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax and statutory regulations, including:
- Company Income Tax (CIT)
- VAT
- PAYE
- Withholding Tax (WHT)
- Pension and other statutory remittances
- Prepare and file statutory returns accurately and on time.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit exercises.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls across operations.
- Strengthen accounting processes, documentation, and reporting systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and safeguarding of financial records.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for operational efficiency and compliance.
Operational Oversight:
- Provide financial oversight for multiple business locations and operational units.
- Supervise accounting support staff where applicable.
- Ensure consistency in accounting standards and reporting across entities.
- Support executive management with timely financial data and business insights.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- An ICAN or ACCA qualification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience in:
- Group or multi-entity organizations
- Education institutions
- Energy or Oil & Gas sectors
- Structured SMEs or organizations with multiple operational units
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage financial operations across multiple business units and locations
Location: Magodo, Lagos, Nigeria (Oversight responsibility across multiple businesses)
