Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
  • Monitor the company's cash flow and liquidity to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and assist in financial planning activities.
  • Conduct periodic financial analysis and variance reporting.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process and verify supplier invoices and payments.
  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
  • Follow up on outstanding debts and provide regular aging reports.


Bank and Account Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and supported.


Payroll Administration:

  • Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deductions, including PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, and other applicable obligations.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and reports.


Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure timely remittance of VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory agencies when required.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.


Internal Controls and Audit:

  • Establish and maintain effective internal control systems.
  • Safeguard company assets against loss, fraud, and misuse.
  • Support internal and external audit exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.


Inventory and Asset Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of company assets and inventory.
  • Conduct periodic inventory and asset verification exercises.
  • Monitor asset utilization and depreciation schedules.


Management Support:

  • Provide financial advice and recommendations to management.
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in developing financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification, such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent, is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, taxation, payroll administration, and audit processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
