Sales Manager
Location: Lagos, Nigeria Salary: NGN equivalent of USD $1,000–$2,500/month Converted range: ₦1,400,000 – ₦3,500,000/month (updated monthly to FX rate)
Role Overview
Manages and scales Swoop's store acquisition sales team in Nigeria. This is the senior-most sales role on the ground, focused on running the day-to-day sales engine, coaching reps, and hitting weekly signed-store and launch targets. Reports directly to the Country Manager. You'll work closely with leadership on the largest strategic accounts while owning the team, the pipeline, and the numbers end-to-end. Strong performance positions you to grow into a Head of Sales role as the org scales. An ideal candidate will be a early to mid-career with a track record of outstanding performance in sales, preferably in a relevant sector to food delivery.
Sales Team Management
- Manage a team of Account Executives, Field Sales Reps, and Partner Onboarding Leads.
- Set weekly targets, run daily activity tracking, and lead weekly forecast and pipeline reviews.
- Coach reps on pitch delivery, objection handling, and closing technique through call reviews and field ride-alongs.
- Identify underperformance early and drive corrective action.
Pipeline and Sales System Execution
- Run and refine the store acquisition playbook: outbound lead flows, pitch scripts, Vendor ROI framing, and objections library.
- Maintain CRM hygiene and reporting discipline in Zoho.
- Test and optimize pitch assets, scripts, and field conversion flows alongside the team.
- Segment pipelines across food categories, demand clusters, price tiers, and delivery density nodes to focus rep effort.
Closing Support and Partner Launch
- Step in to support reps on mid-sized deals where a manager's presence improves close rates.
- Partner with leadership on the largest strategic accounts to ensure consistent messaging and strong close rates.
- Coordinate with Account Management to ensure signed partners launch cleanly on menu pricing, SLAs, and onboarding timelines.
Forecast and KPIs
Own these team-level metrics:
- Signed stores per month
- Live stores launched
- Partner activation %
- Orders per store
- Rep-level activity and conversion rates
- GMV contribution from acquired partners
Hiring and Team Building
- Source, interview, and onboard new sales hires as the team scales.
- Build a culture of accountability, speed, and ownership.
- Develop reps into stronger closers and identify future team leads from within.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2–5 years in sales, with at least some experience managing or leading other reps (formal or informal).
- Track record closing merchants, restaurants, retailers, or SMB partners.
- Strong pipeline discipline and CRM rigor.
- Comfortable in the field and on calls; willing to lead from the front.
- Excellent English communication. Local Nigerian languages highly valued.
