Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and thank them upon departure.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and poise at all times.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with grace and efficiency.
- Ensure VIP guests receive tailored service and special attention.
- Manage reservation systems, phone calls, and online bookings.
- Maintain an organised waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
- Coordinate seating to optimise table turnover without compromising guest experience.
- Communicate with servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host/hostess station and entrance area.
- Ensure menus, seating charts, and reservation books are up to date.
- Assist in preparing the dining room for service, where needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum OND or equivalent; hospitality training is an added advantage.
- Previous experience as a hostess or front-of-house staff in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment.
- Experience with reservation/CRM systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
- Well-groomed, elegant, and presentable at all times.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
