Role Description

The Recovery Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts from clients in a professional and ethical manner. Day-to-day tasks include

• Contacting debtors through various channels
• Negotiating repayment plans, and
• Maintaining accurate records of all recovery activities.

The role involves analyzing client accounts, identifying delinquent balances, and working closely with the finance and customer service teams to resolve payment issues. The Recovery Officer will also handle client inquiries related to outstanding obligations and provide clear explanations of repayment terms, while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service abilities to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.
• Proven experience or training in debt collection with a solid understanding of ethical recovery practices.
• Analytical skills and basic finance knowledge to review accounts, interpret data, and propose suitable repayment solutions.
• Ability to work on-site in Lagos, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple cases with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in relevant office and CRM software.
• Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is advantageous.
• Prior experience in recovery, collections, or banking operations is an added advantage.
