Radiographer

Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, including proper positioning and shielding from radiation.
• Operate a variety of medical imaging equipment, such as X-ray machines, computed tomography (CT) scanners, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, and ultrasound machines.
• Adjust and control imaging equipment settings to obtain clear and accurate images.
• Position patients correctly to capture images of the specific area of interest.
• Follow imaging protocols and capture diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Process and evaluate images for quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
• Recognize and troubleshoot any technical issues with equipment or images.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including images and relevant patient information.
• Document the type of procedure, patient history, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
• Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect both patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Maintain radiation safety equipment and monitor radiation dose levels.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it functions correctly.
• Report equipment malfunctions and arrange for repairs when needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to referring physicians.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques.
• Participate in continuing education and training to maintain licensure and certification.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and License in Radiography.
• Knowledge of medical imaging equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition and documentation.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients when necessary.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced healthcare settings.
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
