Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, including proper positioning and shielding from radiation.
- Operate a variety of medical imaging equipment, such as X-ray machines, computed tomography (CT) scanners, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, and ultrasound machines.
- Adjust and control imaging equipment settings to obtain clear and accurate images.
- Position patients correctly to capture images of the specific area of interest.
- Follow imaging protocols and capture diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Process and evaluate images for quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
- Recognize and troubleshoot any technical issues with equipment or images.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including images and relevant patient information.
- Document the type of procedure, patient history, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect both patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Maintain radiation safety equipment and monitor radiation dose levels.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it functions correctly.
- Report equipment malfunctions and arrange for repairs when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide accurate and timely reports to referring physicians.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques.
- Participate in continuing education and training to maintain licensure and certification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and License in Radiography.
- Knowledge of medical imaging equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition and documentation.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients when necessary.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced healthcare settings.
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
