Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and detail-oriented Radiographer to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with radiation protection standards.

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and other radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Evaluate image quality and repeat examinations where necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Assist radiologists during specialized imaging procedures when required.
- Verify patient identity and imaging requests before conducting examinations.
- Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety and protection protocols for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to any concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
- Provide compassionate and professional care throughout the patient's visit.
- Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate servicing or repairs.
- Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the imaging department.
- Accurately document patient information, imaging procedures, and examination results.
- Maintain digital imaging records using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and case discussions.
- Provide guidance and support to student radiographers and junior staff where applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Rad. or B.Sc.) in Radiography or Medical Radiography from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing licence with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria.
- Proven years of post-qualification experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre, or healthcare facility.
- Proficiency in operating digital radiography equipment and imaging software.
- Knowledge of radiation protection principles, patient safety, and infection prevention protocols.
- Strong understanding of PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
