Responsibilities:
- Conduct concrete slump tests to verify workability and ensure compliance with approved mix designs.
- Prepare, label, cure, and maintain concrete cube samples for compressive strength testing.
- Perform compressive strength tests on concrete cubes at the required testing intervals and accurately record results.
- Carry out aggregate sieve analysis and other material tests to verify compliance with company specifications.
- Determine aggregate moisture content and communicate results to the batching plant team for mix adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory and field tests, including test reports, cube registers, and quality logs.
- Monitor and maintain curing tanks, testing equipment, and laboratory facilities to ensure they remain clean, functional, and compliant with quality standards.
- Report any failed tests, quality concerns, or material non-conformities promptly to the Head of Quality Control.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with the Company's quality procedures, testing standards, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Assist in investigating quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Maintain adequate laboratory consumables and report shortages or equipment maintenance needs.
- Perform any other quality control duties assigned by the Head of quality control or Management.
Requirements:
- National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in concrete quality control, laboratory testing, or construction materials testing.
- Experience in a ready-mix concrete or construction materials laboratory will be an added advantage.
