Public Health Advisor

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional health education and preventive health guidance to clients and community members.
• Conduct basic health and wellness assessments and identify potential health-risk factors.
• Educate individuals on healthy nutrition, lifestyle choices, hygiene, disease prevention, and wellness practices.
• Support the planning and execution of health screenings, outreach programs, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
• Promote preventive healthcare services, health checks, and wellness programs.
• Follow up with clients to encourage healthy lifestyle changes and continued engagement with recommended services.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, health education activities, and referrals.
• Refer clients to qualified medical professionals or healthcare facilities when further assessment or treatment is required.
• Build relationships with organizations, communities, employers, and healthcare stakeholders.
• Participate in public health campaigns and initiatives aimed at improving community health outcomes.
• Stay informed about relevant public health trends, preventive-care practices, and health policies.
• Prepare basic reports on health activities, client engagement, outreach programs, and outcomes.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, Nursing, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of preventive healthcare and health promotion.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to educate and engage people from diverse backgrounds.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic digital and reporting skills.
