Job summary
The Program Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of all programmatic and grant-related activities of the Adewunmi Desalu Parkinson’s Foundation (ADPF). The role leads program development, grant acquisition and management, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:
Program Development and Strategic Leadership
- Lead the design and development of innovative, evidence-informed programs and initiatives that address the needs of people living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers.
- Identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities within the Parkinson’s and neurological health space to inform program innovation.
- Set clear, measurable program objectives aligned with ADPF’s strategic goals and long-term vision.
- Ensure all programs contribute meaningfully to ADPF’s mission and impact agenda.
Program Planning, Coordination, and Management
- Develop comprehensive program implementation plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and operational processes.
- Coordinate program execution from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to approved work plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Support planning and execution of events, workshops, community outreaches, and advocacy activities.
- Ensure seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, facilitators, volunteers, and partners.
Grant Management, Fundraising, and Resource Mobilization
- Lead grant-seeking efforts, including researching funding opportunities and pursuing grants aligned with ADPF’s mission.
- Review, evaluate, draft, and edit grant proposals and funding applications submitted to or by the Foundation.
- Prepare and present funding recommendations to senior management and the Board of Trustees.
- Manage donor-funded projects, including compliance with donor requirements and reporting schedules.
- Engage in fundraising initiatives and support the development of diversified revenue streams for program sustainability.
- Follow up on past grants and submit required narrative and financial reports.
Budget Development and Financial Oversight
- Develop detailed program budgets in collaboration with finance and leadership teams.
- Oversee and monitor program expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with organizational and donor guidelines.
- Approve budget proposals related to program implementation and track financial performance against approved budgets.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
- Design and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program performance, outcomes, and impact.
- Develop and maintain evaluation mechanisms to track progress, effectiveness, and efficiency of programs and services.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
- Apply data-driven insights to strengthen program quality and inform strategic decision-making.
Compliance, Governance, and Risk Management
- Ensure all program activities comply with relevant laws, donor regulations, and ADPF internal policies.
- Uphold high standards of governance, accountability, and ethical conduct across all program operations.
- Identify and mitigate programmatic and operational risks to protect organizational integrity.
Reporting and Board Engagement
- Prepare high-quality narrative reports, dashboards, and presentations on program progress, outcomes, and impact for the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
- Communicate key achievements, challenges, risks, and recommendations to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Support Board meetings and committee engagements related to programs and grants as required.
Staff Leadership, Development, and Capacity Building
- Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for program staff and volunteers.
- Ensure program teams receive appropriate training, mentorship, and technical support.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, healthcare institutions, partner organizations, funders, and policymakers.
- Conduct site visits, stakeholder meetings, and engagement sessions to monitor program delivery and gather feedback.
- Promote collaboration and partnership development in support of program objectives and sustainability.
Research, Learning, and Sector Engagement
- Conduct and oversee research in subject areas relevant to ADPF’s mission as assigned.
- Stay abreast of current developments, best practices, and innovations in Parkinson’s care, disability inclusion, and philanthropy.
- Attend relevant sector events, programs, and continuing education opportunities to strengthen institutional knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management in line with organizational priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ progressive experience in program management, preferably within the health, disability, or development sector.
- Proven experience in grant writing, donor engagement, and managing donor-funded projects.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and team leadership.
