Product Design

Responsibilities:

• Design user-friendly interfaces and digital experiences for websites, mobile applications, software platforms, and other technology products.
• Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviours, pain points, and expectations.
• Develop user personas, customer journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Create high-fidelity UI designs, mockups, and clickable prototypes using tools such as Figma.
• Collaborate with product managers, software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define product requirements.
• Translate product requirements and business objectives into practical design solutions.
• Design responsive interfaces that provide consistent experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Apply UX principles, usability standards, accessibility guidelines, and visual design best practices.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to identify design issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Review user feedback, product analytics, and research findings to improve existing products.
• Maintain and improve design systems, reusable components, typography, colour palettes, and interface guidelines.
• Ensure designs are feasible for development and communicate design specifications clearly to developers.
• Work closely with engineering teams throughout implementation to ensure designs are accurately translated into functional products.
• Participate in product planning, brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and development meetings.
• Stay updated on emerging design trends, user experience practices, and technology industry developments.
• Maintain organized design files, documentation, prototypes, and project assets.
• Contribute to continuous product improvement through iterative design and testing.

Requirements:

• HND in Product Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; relevant practical experience may be considered.
• 2–4 years of experience in product design, UI/UX design, or digital interface design.
• Proficiency in Figma and experience with prototyping and collaborative design tools.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, information architecture, interaction design, and usability principles.
• Experience designing websites, mobile applications, dashboards, SaaS platforms, or other digital products.
• Ability to create user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design specifications.
• Good understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles.
• Ability to interpret product requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
• Strong visual design, problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with developers and product teams.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and software development workflows is an advantage.
• Familiarity with usability testing, user research, and product analytics tools is an added advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, respond to feedback, and meet deadlines.
• A portfolio showcasing completed digital product design projects is required.
