Job summary
The procurement officer will be responsible for managing the hospital’s purchasing activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of medical supplies, equipment, and general goods, in line with approved standards, budgets, and regulatory requirements.

- Source, evaluate, and engage reliable vendors and suppliers
- Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation
- Ensure availability of medical consumables, drugs, and non-medical supplies
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and contract terms with suppliers
- Maintain accurate procurement records and inventory reports
- Liaise with user departments to understand procurement needs
- Ensure compliance with hospital procurement policies and internal controls
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply-related issues
- Support periodic audits and stock verification exercises
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and inventory control
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic procurement software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience in hospital or pharmaceutical procurement
- Knowledge of local medical suppliers and regulatory requirements
