We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the pharmacist in receiving, processing, and dispensing prescriptions.
  • Prepare and package medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Label medications and ensure proper dosage instructions are included.
  • Verify prescription information and patient details for accuracy.
  • Attend to customers professionally and provide basic information regarding medication use as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Respond to inquiries and direct complex medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
  • Handle customer complaints and concerns courteously and professionally.
  • Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical products and medical supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items to the pharmacist or supervisor.
  • Check expiry dates regularly and remove expired or damaged products from shelves.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliation exercises.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, standard operating procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance and safety procedures.
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and payment processing where applicable.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by management.
  • Support other pharmacy operations as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.


Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician programme.
  • Valid registration/licensing with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proven years of experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or healthcare facility.
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical products and pharmacy operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with pharmacy management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
