Pharmacy Assistant Tutor

Job Overview

The Pharmacy Assistant Tutor is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical instruction within the Pharmacy Assistant program at Medbuddy Academy. The tutor will guide students through structured modules covering pharmacy operations, medication safety, pharmaceutical calculations, dispensing workflows, and professional practice.

This role requires an individual with strong pharmacy knowledge, excellent teaching ability, and a commitment to preparing students for real-world pharmacy environments locally and internationally. The tutor will facilitate live classes, practical simulations, and competency assessments while supporting students’ professional development throughout the program.

Key Responsibilities  

Teaching & Instruction  

• Deliver structured lectures aligned with the Medbuddy Pharmacy Assistant curriculum.
• Facilitate both in-person and virtual learning sessions.
• Teach core topics including:

1. pharmacy practice
2. prescription interpretation
3. pharmaceutical calculations
4. pharmacology fundamentals
5. medication safety
6. pharmacy law and ethics
7. inventory and pharmacy workflow
8. Translate complex pharmacy concepts into practical, understandable lessons.

Practical Skills Training  

• Guide students through activities such as:
• prescription reading and interpretation
• medication labeling and dispensing workflow
• pharmaceutical calculations
• medication safety checks
• inventory management processes
• Supervise simulation-based exercises that replicate real pharmacy operations.

Student Assessment & Evaluation  

• Design and administer quizzes, assignments, and practical assessments.
• Evaluate students’ competency in:

1. pharmacy terminology
2. dosage calculations
3. dispensing procedures
4. communication skills
5. Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement.

Curriculum Implementation  

• Deliver training according to the approved 13-week Medbuddy Pharmacy Assistant curriculum.
• Ensure learning objectives for each module are achieved.
• Recommend improvements to course content based on teaching experience and industry updates.

Student Mentorship & Support  

• Provide academic support and mentorship to students throughout the program.
• Guide students on professional conduct within pharmacy environments.
• Assist students in preparing for employment opportunities within pharmacy settings.

Learning Materials Development  

• Support the teaching materials provided, including:

1. lecture slides
2. case studies
3. practice exercises
4. real-world pharmacy scenarios
5. Contribute to the development of pre-recorded learning content where required.

Professional Standards & Compliance  

• Maintain ethical and professional standards during training.
• Ensure all teaching aligns with healthcare safety principles.
• Promote patient safety and responsible medication handling practices.

Collaboration With Academic Team  

• Work closely with the Academy Head and other instructors.
• Participate in faculty meetings and program review sessions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of training programs.
