Job summary
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, reviewing prescriptions for safety and appropriateness, providing patient counseling on the proper use of medications.

Responsibilities:
- Prescription Processing: Accurately interpreting prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, and ensuring the legality and safety of the prescribed treatments.
- Safety Checks: Reviewing patient profiles to prevent allergic reactions, contraindications, and harmful drug-to-drug or drug-to-food interactions.
- Medication Disposal: Safely collecting and disposing of unneeded, expired, or hazardous medications from patients.
Patient Care and Education:
- Medication Counseling: Providing comprehensive instructions on how to take prescribed drugs, potential side effects, and correct storage methods.
- Minor Ailment Triage: Recommending effective OTC treatments for common conditions (e.g., colds, allergies, or minor digestive issues) and advising patients when they need to see a physician.
- Therapy Adherence: Following up with patients on long-term therapies and encouraging adherence to treatment regimens to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Clinical and Preventive Services:
- Health Monitoring: Offering basic point-of-care testing such as checking blood pressure, blood glucose (for diabetes management), and cholesterol levels.
- Disease Management & Prevention: Assisting patients in managing chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, hypertension) and providing preventive services like adult vaccinations and contraception services.
- Public Health Promotion: Running health and wellness campaigns (e.g., smoking cessation, nutrition advice) to foster healthier lifestyle choices.
Operations and Administration:
- Inventory Management: Managing supply chains to ensure essential medicines, generics, and OTC products are readily available to the public while preventing shortages.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhering strictly to local and national pharmaceutical laws regarding drug distribution, controlled substances, and prescription forgery
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist from the relevant regulatory body.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience (preferred, depending on the role).
- Strong knowledge of medications, dosages, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to counsel patients on the safe and effective use of medications.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High ethical standards and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts if required.
