Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Conduct thorough patient counselling on medication use, dosage, side effects, and interactions to promote safe and effective therapy.
- Review and, when necessary, clarify or cancel erroneous prescriptions in collaboration with prescribers to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain full compliance with PCN, NAFDAC, and other regulatory authorities governing pharmacy operations.
- Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance with pharmacy standards.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled drugs, prescription files, and inventory.
- Support inventory management through timely stock ordering, verification, and reconciliation to prevent shortages or wastage.
- Participate actively in health education, patient follow-up, and medication therapy reviews to improve patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and sales acumen by recommending appropriate products and promoting a positive client experience.
- Uphold the ethical, professional, and safety standards of the pharmacy while fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from an accredited institution.
- Current license with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical laws, ethics, and patient-centred care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and inventory systems.
- Customer-focused, sales-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare.
