Job summary

The Ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing and related accounting functions, ensuring statutory compliance, and proper financial reporting. The role integrates payroll operations with core accounting activities and requires hands-on use of SeamlessHR for payroll administration, reporting, and data management.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Process end-to-end monthly payroll using SeamlessHR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Compute salaries, allowances, bonuses, overtime, arrears, and deductions
  • Manage statutory deductions and compliance (PAYE, Pension, NHF, NHIS, ITF, NSITF)
  • Prepare and submit statutory schedules and remittances to relevant authorities
  • Maintain payroll master data and ensure alignment with HR records
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queries


Accounting & Financial:

  • Post payroll journals into the general ledger
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, salary control accounts, and statutory liabilities
  • Support monthly and year-end financial closing activities relating to payroll
  • Prepare payroll cost reports for management decision-making
  • Support budgeting and forecasting of staff costs
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll and staff costs


Systems & Controls:

  • Ensure payroll data integrity within SeamlessHR
  • Implement and monitor payroll controls to prevent errors and fraud
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on salary reviews, promotions, exits, and benefits changes
  • Support system improvements and process optimization


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is highly preferred
  • 4–6 years of experience handling payroll and accounting functions
  • Hands-on experience using SeamlessHR.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and payroll regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity
