Nursery Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for Nursery 1 pupils.
• Teach foundational subjects including phonics, early literacy, numeracy, handwriting, and basic general knowledge.
• Use songs, stories, games, creative activities, and practical learning to make lessons engaging.
• Monitor and assess pupils’ academic and developmental progress.
• Maintain a well-organized, clean, and child-friendly classroom.
• Provide individual attention and support to pupils who may need additional assistance.
• Encourage good manners, communication, confidence, teamwork, and positive behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records of pupils’ attendance, performance, and activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding pupils’ progress and development.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and school management.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils under your care.

Requirements:

• Minimum of OND in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with Nursery/Early Years pupils.
• Good knowledge of phonics and early childhood education.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Must be patient, caring, creative, energetic, and passionate about working with young children.
• Ability to use play-based and activity-based teaching methods effectively.
• Must be professional, punctual, responsible, and presentable.
