Network Support Engineer
Job summary
The Network Support Engineer (CMDB & IT Inventory) is responsible for maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and managing the organization's IT asset inventory. The role ensures accurate configuration records, asset tracking, inventory reconciliation, and timely updates using Microsoft Excel to support efficient IT operations

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Record and track IT assets, including hardware, software, and network devices.
- Manage IT inventory using Microsoft Excel and ensure data accuracy.
- Perform periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track asset allocation, transfers, repairs, and disposals.
- Generate inventory and asset status reports.
- Support change management by updating CMDB records following approved changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets and configurations.
- Work with IT teams to ensure compliance with asset management procedures.
- Support network and IT operations as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Network Support, CMDB, or IT Asset Management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, IF Functions).
- Basic knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy of CMDB records.
- Accuracy of IT inventory records.
- Timely update of asset and configuration information.
- Inventory reconciliation accuracy.
- Timely submission of inventory reports.
