Network Security Analyst

The Network Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization's network infrastructure by designing, implementing, and monitoring security controls. The role involves identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, managing firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. Work closely with IT teams to assess risks, strengthen defences, and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures (on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments)
- Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and secure remote access solutions
- Perform network security assessments, vulnerabilities scanning, and penetration testing remediation
- Monitor security events and logs; investigate and respond to security incidents
- Implement and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices
- Manage network segmentation, access controls, and zero-trust security models
- Secure network protocols, routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT, cloud, and SOC teams to integrate security across infrastructure and applications
- Support compliance with regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, and incident response procedures
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head, Security Technology & Engineering
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and DNS
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and network access control (NAC)
- Experience securing cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation
- Familiarity with zero trust architecture, network segmentation, and least-privilege access models
- Knowledge of secure network protocols and encryption technologies
- Experience responding to and investigating network security incidents
- Understanding of common attack techniques (e.g., DDoS, MITM, malware, lateral movement)
- Ability to develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures
- Experience supporting compliance and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, CIS)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Qualification & Experience
Mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- 3-6 years' relevant experience
- Industry-recognized certifications, such as:
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA
- CCNP Security or CCIE Security
- CEH, GSEC, or equivalent network security certifications
Desirable
- Cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer)
