Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Pull, dress, terminate, label and test Ethernet cabling under the approved installation plan.
- Install racks, patch panels and containment; support fibre installation and patching.
- Mount cameras, wireless access points, displays and associated equipment safely.
- Assist engineers with racking and connecting servers, switches, firewalls and storage equipment.
- Carry out basic fault finding, cable repairs and routine installation maintenance.
- Keep accurate labels, test results and work records; record authorised installation photographs where required.
- Follow drawings, engineering instructions, site safety rules and workmanship standards.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of practical network, CCTV, electrical, telecommunications or structured-cabling installation experience.
- Hands-on Ethernet termination and testing, rack assembly and structured cabling skills.
- Ability to use installation tools safely and follow drawings and technical instructions.
- Careful labelling, tidy workmanship, reliable record keeping and effective teamwork.
Preferred: Relevant structured cabling, fibre, CCTV, electrical or networking training. CCNA or CompTIA Network+ is an advantage.
