Music Coach (Drum Specialist)

We are looking for a multi-disciplinary Music Coach with a specialism in Drums. Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor students in piano and drum performance using KMC’s modern teaching methodologies.
- Deliver engaging music lessons that support students’ musical, personal, and cognitive development.
- Utilise technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences.
- Support students’ progress through structured practice, assessments, and feedback.
- Collaborate with the KMC team to uphold teaching standards and organisational values.
- Participate in internal training and coaching programs to align with KMC’s approach.
- Adapt teaching schedules and methods to meet student and business needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Diploma in a related field.
- 2 years of experience in music education
- Instrument Proficiency: Have a high level of proficiency on the Drum Set. Secondary Instrument: Be proficient at the Piano (ideally to Grade 5 standard).
- Sight Reading: Be able to comfortably sight-read sheet music to an intermediate or advanced level (or possess a strong willingness to learn this skill).
- Tech Savvy: Be IT literate and eager to learn and utilise new technologies in the classroom.
- Coachability: Be willing to undergo our internal coaching program to align with KMC methodologies, regardless of your prior background or experience.
Work Schedule & Flexibility:
- Saturdays: Must be willing and able to work a full day on Saturdays (9:00 am – 6:00 pm), with one day off in lieu during the week.
- Late Shifts: Must be willing to work a late shift (finishing at 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm) at least once a week to accommodate international students in different time zones.
- Adaptability: Must be flexible and willing to "go with the flow" as business needs dictate.
Selection Process:
- Successful candidates will go through a rigorous selection process to ensure a perfect fit for our culture and standards:
- Application: Submission of initial interest.
- Skills Assessment: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a skills assessment day involving both online and practical assessments of teaching and performance skills.
- Panel Interview: Candidates demonstrating the requisite skills (or willingness to upskill) will face a panel interview.
- Offer: Final offers will be extended to those who demonstrate the best fit for KMC.
Remuneration: NGN 150,000 - 250,00
