Medical Laboratory Scientist

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, label, and process patient samples in accordance with laboratory protocols
  
• Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests accurately and efficiently
  
• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and testing guidelines
  
• Conduct internal quality control checks and participate in quality assurance programs
  
• Validate test results and escalate inconsistencies or abnormal findings appropriately
  
• Operate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
  
• Ensure calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments are carried out
  
• Maintain accurate records of tests performed, reagents used, and results generated
  
• Enforce biosafety, infection control, and waste management protocols
  
• Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory assessments
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory
  
• Collaborate with other laboratory professionals to meet turnaround time targets
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science
  
• Valid practising licence
  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  
• Ability to work independently and within a team
