Our client is looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill this position. The manager of finance and accounts oversees all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Their primary responsibility is to provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and maintaining internal financial control and procedures.
  • Suggesting updates and improvements for accounting systems.
  • Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in a timely manner.
  • Implementation of financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation and ensure all financial reporting requirements are met, including tax filings and regulatory compliance (NCDMB, FIRS, LIRS, etc.).
  • Analyze monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows) for critical decision-making.
  • Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for management.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial plans for the company.
  • Perform periodic account and bank reconciliation.
  • Providing sound financial assistance and information to management to make important business decisions.
  • Identifying exceptions and variances affecting accounting records and communicating same to management and assisting in their resolution
  • Ensuring proper accounting treatment of all transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Preparing annual audit schedules, compliance reports, annual financial statements, and other reports.
  • Liaising with the company’s external auditor.
  • Oversee finance and fund accounting.


General Duties

  • Act as the financial representative of the company when the need arises.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents and developing periodic reports for the management.
  • Financial management and controls Management of the company's working capital with a primary focus on inventory, receivables, and cash Management of overheads through financial prudence and cost savings.
  • Secure information by completing database backups
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Requirements:

  • Should possess 5 - 7 years’ experience in accounting in the Oil and Gas field.
  • B.Sc. Accounting/Finance/Economics
  • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA should be an added advantage.


Competencies & Requirements:

  • Demonstrated competencies and knowledge in Financial Reporting, Management
  • Reporting, financial modelling, Taxation.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors.
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Proficient use of accounting software (Infoware, Sage300, Cloud integra)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Attention to details
  • Fully understand project budgets, costing, invoicing, cash flow, forecasting, corporate financing and gross margin.
  • Should be conversant with the tax system as it concerns the oil and gas industry.

Remuneration: NGN
700,000.00 – 800,000.00 (Net)
