The Lounge Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of Gilt Stay's lounge, ensuring a high standard of guest experience, service delivery, cleanliness, safety and profitability. The role involves supervising lounge staff, coordinating food and beverage service, managing reservations and guest requests, overseeing events and entertainment activities, monitoring stock and sales, and ensuring that the lounge operates efficiently from opening to closing. The ideal candidate should have strong hospitality and people-management skills, be confident dealing with guests, understand lounge/nightlife operations, and be able to remain calm and organised during busy periods.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Lounge Operations:

  • Oversee the daily opening, operation, and closing of the lounge.
  • Ensure the lounge is properly set up, clean, organized, and ready before opening.
  • Monitor the overall condition and presentation of the lounge, furniture, décor and service areas.
  • Ensure that all operational procedures and service standards are followed.
  • Coordinate closely with the front office, housekeeping, security, kitchen/restaurant, and management.
  • Ensure smooth service during peak periods, weekends, and events.
  • Identify operational issues promptly and escalate them to management when necessary.


Guest Experience & Service:

  • Ensure guests receive professional, prompt and courteous service.
  • Welcome and engage guests while maintaining a premium and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Handle guest requests, complaints and service recovery professionally.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the lounge experience.
  • Ensure that guests are properly attended to throughout their visit.
  • Maintain appropriate service standards for both Gilt Stay residents and external lounge guests.


Staff Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate lounge staff, including waiters, bartenders, servers and other assigned personnel.
  • Prepare or contribute to staff duty rosters and shift schedules.
  • Conduct daily briefings before service.
  • Assign duties and ensure staff remain productive throughout their shifts.
  • Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming and conduct.
  • Train and coach staff on service standards, guest relations and lounge procedures.
  • Address minor staff issues and escalate serious disciplinary matters to management.


Food & Beverage Operations:

  • Work closely with the kitchen and restaurant team to ensure timely and accurate food service.
  • Monitor beverage service and ensure proper handling of drinks.
  • Ensure menu items and prices are clearly communicated to staff and guests.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation.
  • Track popular and slow-moving menu items and provide feedback to management.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of food and beverage items.
  • Monitor portion control and minimise wastage.


Sales, Cash & Revenue Monitoring:

  • Monitor daily lounge sales and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensure payments are accurately processed through approved payment channels.
  • Monitor cash handling and ensure proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
  • Track lounge revenue, reservations, table bookings and other income-generating activities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase lounge revenue through promotions, events, table bookings and guest engagement.
  • Prepare and submit daily sales and operational reports to management.
  • Report discrepancies, unusual transactions or suspected losses immediately.


Stock & Inventory Control:

  • Monitor stock levels of beverages, disposables and other lounge supplies.
  • Ensure proper recording of stock received, used and remaining.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Prevent unnecessary wastage, damage or unauthorised use of stock.
  • Work with management/procurement on restocking requirements.
  • Ensure stock is properly stored and secured.


Events & Entertainment:

  • Coordinate the operational side of lounge events, including live shows, game nights, parties and other entertainment activities.
  • Work with management, entertainers, vendors and relevant staff to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Ensure the lounge is properly prepared before events.
  • Coordinate seating, reservations, service and guest flow during events.
  • Monitor guest capacity and ensure safety requirements are maintained.
  • Review event performance and provide feedback to management.


Lounge Ambience & Presentation:

  • Ensure the lounge maintains a clean, attractive and welcoming environment.
  • Monitor lighting, music, furniture arrangement and general ambience.
  • Ensure music volume remains appropriate for the time, event and guest environment.
  • Coordinate with the relevant team when equipment or facilities require attention.
  • Ensure tables, chairs, service stations and guest areas are properly arranged and maintained.


Safety, Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure lounge operations comply with Gilt Stay's safety and security procedures.
  • Monitor guest capacity and crowd levels, particularly during events.
  • Report accidents, incidents, damages or safety concerns immediately.
  • Work closely with Security to maintain a safe environment.
  • Ensure emergency exits and access routes remain clear.
  • Ensure responsible handling and service of alcoholic beverages where applicable.
  • Escalate serious incidents to management immediately.


Reporting & Administration:

  • Daily lounge opening and closing reports.
  • Daily sales reports.
  • Staff attendance records.
  • Stock and inventory records.
  • Event reports.
  • Guest complaints and service recovery records.
  • Maintenance and incident reports.
  • Other operational reports requested by management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience in hospitality, lounge, restaurant, bar, hotel or related operations.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
  • Experience managing a lounge, restaurant, bar or entertainment venue will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations.
  • Experience with cash handling, stock control and daily sales reporting.
  • Good knowledge of customer service and hospitality standards.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Proficiency with basic digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or relevant POS systems.
  • Able to maintain professionalism during busy nightlife operations


Remuneration: NGN 150,000- 200,000 Monthly
