Job summary
The Live-In Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the company's premises, staff, visitors, assets, and equipment. The role involves monitoring access to the premises, preventing unauthorized entry, conducting routine patrols, responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Guard the company's premises against theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other security threats.
- Control access by verifying the identity of visitors, staff, and contractors before granting entry.
- Monitor gates, entrances, exits, and other strategic areas of the premises.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and report suspicious activities or security risks.
- Maintain a detailed security log of visitors, deliveries, incidents, and daily activities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, fire outbreaks, or security breaches.
- Ensure all doors, gates, windows, and restricted areas are properly secured.
- Monitor CCTV systems and other security equipment where available.
- Report accidents, incidents, suspicious behavior, or security concerns immediately to management.
- Assist in enforcing company safety and security policies.
- Prevent unauthorized removal of company property.
- Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the security post.
- Ensure company assets and facilities remain protected at all times.
- Remain alert throughout assigned shifts and avoid negligence while on duty.
- Support management with any additional security-related assignments.
- A minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a security officer, security guard, or in a similar security role.
- Additional security training or certifications will be an added advantage.
- Experience in residential estates, corporate organizations, hotels, warehouses, or industrial facilities is an added advantage.
- Must be willing to reside within the company's premises (live-in accommodation provided).
- Valid means of identification.
- Physically fit and medically sound.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
- No criminal record or history of misconduct.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic knowledge of emergency response and first aid is an added advantage.
- Strong observation and surveillance skills.
