Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and responsible care for the children.
- Assist the children with their homework, school assignments, reading, and other academic activities.
- Support and supervise their daily routines, including meals, personal care, activities, and bedtime routines.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with the children and household members.
- Engage the children in educational, creative, and age-appropriate activities.
- Help maintain a structured and positive environment for the children.
- Monitor the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Assist with preparing meals or snacks for the children when required.
- Maintain good personal hygiene and cleanliness around the children.
- Respect and adhere to the values, routines, and expectations of the Muslim household.
- Communicate any concerns regarding the children’s wellbeing, behaviour, or schoolwork to the parents.
- Perform other reasonable child-care-related duties as required. French-speaking ability is preferred but not compulsory. A candidate who can prepare continental dishes and bake will have an added advantage.
Requirements:
- Female, preferably aged 40years or above.
- Previous experience working as a nanny, governess, childcare provider, teacher, or in a similar child-care role.
- Must be patient, caring, responsible, trustworthy, and emotionally mature.
- Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills are required.
- Ability to confidently assist children with their schoolwork and homework.
- Good understanding of children’s educational and developmental needs.
- French-speaking ability is preferred but not compulsory.
- Ability to prepare continental dishes is an advantage.
- Baking skills are an advantage but not compulsory.
- Must be comfortable working as a live-in nanny in Abuja.
- Must be respectful of and comfortable working within a Muslim household.
- Good personal hygiene, neat appearance, and professional conduct are required.
- References or verifiable previous childcare experience will be an advantage.
