Live-In Cook

Responsibilities:

• Prepare fresh, healthy, and delicious Nigerian and continental meals.
• Plan daily and weekly menus based on the household’s preferences and dietary needs.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Keep the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices at all times.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and communicate when groceries or ingredients need to be restocked.
• Assist with grocery shopping and proper storage of food items when required.
• Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
• Prepare meals according to agreed schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining and kitchen areas.
• Be flexible with occasional changes to meal plans or household requirements.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality within the household.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a cook, preferably in a private household.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and traditional Nigerian soups.
• Ability to prepare a variety of continental dishes.
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to plan menus and manage kitchen supplies.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Must be neat, clean, and well-presented.
• Must be trustworthy, respectful, disciplined, and responsible.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to live in the employer’s residence.
• References from previous employers will be an advantage.
