Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Lawyer role based in Lekki Phase 1. The Lawyer will provide legal advice on company operations, contracts, and regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to employment, technology, and data protection.

Daily responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, policies, and terms of use; managing legal documentation; and assessing legal risks associated with new products, partnerships, and business initiatives.

The role involves liaising with external counsel when needed, supporting internal teams with legal guidance, and ensuring the company complies with applicable laws and industry regulations. The Lawyer will also help develop internal frameworks for dispute resolution, intellectual property protection, and governance.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in contract drafting, review, and negotiation, with experience in commercial and technology-related agreements.
• Proficiency in corporate and employment law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
• Experience in regulatory compliance, data protection, and privacy, especially in technology or platform-based businesses.
• Ability to conduct thorough legal research, prepare clear legal opinions, and develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Proven capability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Law degree (LL.B or equivalent) from an accredited institution and admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Prior in-house experience or experience in a law firm supporting technology, HR, or labor-related clients is an advantage.
