Laundryman

Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, and separate laundry items according to colour, fabric type, and washing requirements.
• Wash hotel bed sheets, pillowcases, towels, staff uniforms, and other assigned laundry items.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, pressing machines, and other laundry equipment safely and effectively.
• Apply appropriate detergents and cleaning agents based on fabric requirements.
• Remove stains and handle delicate fabrics with proper care.
• Dry, iron, fold, and arrange laundry items neatly.
• Ensure clean linens and uniforms are properly sorted and delivered to the appropriate departments.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or missing pieces before returning them.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry room and surrounding work areas.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or faulty equipment to the supervisor.
• Handle laundry equipment and cleaning materials responsibly.
• Follow established hygiene, safety, and laundry procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of SSCE or its equivalent.
• Previous experience in laundry operations or a hotel environment is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of washing, drying, ironing, and fabric care.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Physically fit and able to handle repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Honest, reliable, and hardworking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
