Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Pressing & Finishing:
- Operate steam press, dry iron, and pressing table safely
- Iron all types of garments: shirts, trousers, gowns, uniforms, agbada, beddings
- Follow fabric care labels to set the correct heat: cotton, silk, chiffon, polyester
- Apply finishing techniques: collar shaping, pleats, creases, starching
- Remove wrinkles and give clothes a crisp, professional look
Quality Control:
- Check each garment for missed spots, burns, or creases before packing
- Report damaged clothes or stubborn stains to the supervisor
- Ensure consistency in quality for every order
Equipment & Workspace:
- Clean and maintain pressing machines daily
- Monitor gas, water, and electricity usage
- Keep pressing area tidy and safe
Production & Packaging:
- Meet daily production targets set by management
- Fold and package clothes neatly with hangers and nylon
- Work with sorters and delivery team to ensure orders are complete
Requirements:
- Minimum of an SSCE
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in laundry, dry cleaning, or tailoring preferred
- Good knowledge of fabrics and iron temperature settings
- Attention to detail and speed
- Physically fit - standing for long hours
- Honest and careful with customer items
