Job summary
The Laundry Personnel are responsible for washing, drying, ironing, folding, and organizing laundry items while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, fabric care, and customer satisfaction. The role involves operating laundry equipment safely, handling garments according to care instructions, maintaining a clean work environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Receive, sort, and inspect laundry items before processing.
- Wash, dry, iron, fold, and package garments, linens, and other fabrics according to established procedures.
- Operate laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, steamers, and pressing equipment, safely and efficiently.
- Treat stains using appropriate cleaning methods and chemicals.
- Ensure proper handling of delicate fabrics and garments according to care labels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area and equipment.
- Monitor detergent, chemicals, and other laundry supplies, and report low stock levels.
- Inspect finished laundry to ensure quality standards are met before delivery or collection.
- Report damaged garments, equipment faults, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Handle customers' clothing and linens with care and confidentiality.
- Meet daily laundry production targets while maintaining quality.
- Assist with inventory and record-keeping where required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
- Minimum of an SSCE qualification.
- Previous experience in a laundry or dry-cleaning environment is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of fabric care, stain removal, and garment handling.
- Ability to operate laundry and ironing equipment safely.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads.
- Good knowledge of laundry operations and fabric care.
- Ability to operate washing, drying, ironing, and pressing equipment.
