The Company is a leading provider of diagnostic testing services, committed to delivering high-quality patient care and accurate test results. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our laboratory.
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for managing the technical, administrative, and quality assurance operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
1. Test Menu Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the laboratory's test menu.
2. Method Validation: Ensure that all laboratory tests are validated and verified according to regulatory requirements.
3. Instrumentation Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment.
4. Reagent and Supply Management: Manage the procurement, storage, and inventory of reagents and supplies.
Administrative Responsibilities
1. Staff Management: Supervise and train laboratory staff, including technologists, technicians, and support personnel.
2. Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the laboratory's budget, including forecasting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
3. Regulatory Compliance:: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
4. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate test results.
2. Quality Control: Develop, implement, and monitor quality control programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
3. Proficiency Testing: Coordinate proficiency testing programs to ensure laboratory compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Audit and Compliance: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies.
5. Corrective Action: Investigate and implement corrective actions for quality control and quality assurance issues.
6. Continuous Quality Improvement: Develop and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to improve laboratory operations and patient care.
Requirements
1. Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
2. Advanced certification degree would be an advantage.
3. Current registration with MLSCN.
4. Experience with ISO Certifications.
5. Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
6. Strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in laboratory information systems.
