Role Summary

We are looking for a hardworking, communicative, and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team. At KCC, communication is non-negotiable — you must be able to receive instructions clearly, report issues promptly, and work cohesively with the team at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and promptly with the Head Chef and kitchen team during service
• Report stock shortages, equipment faults, and hygiene issues immediately
• Assist in daily food preparation — washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment
• Receive, sort, and store kitchen supplies and deliveries correctly
• Dispose of kitchen waste hygienically and responsibly
• Follow all food safety and hygiene instructions without hesitation

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills — this is the most critical requirement
• Ability to listen, take instructions, and confirm understanding before acting
• Able to speak up immediately when something is wrong in the kitchen
• Minimum 1 year experience in a kitchen or food service environment
• Basic knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and kitchen operations
• Physically fit — able to stand for long hours and lift supplies
• Available for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Must reside in or be willing to commute to Katampe Extension, Abuja
• Neat, punctual, and team-oriented
