Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and cooks in basic food preparation (e.g., peeling, chopping, portioning).
- Wash and clean kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and appliances.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas in line with food safety regulations.
- Receive and store deliveries appropriately.
- Remove and properly dispose of waste and rubbish from the kitchen.
- Refill kitchen supplies like salt, oil, spices, and napkins.
- Report any equipment faults or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Follow hygiene, health, and safety guidelines at all times.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head Chef or Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum SSCE/WAEC certificate.
- Previous kitchen or food handling experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long hours.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
- Punctual, honest, and dependable.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in cooking or hospitality is a plus.
