Janitor Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily cleaning activities of janitors across assigned facilities or shifts.
• Assign duties and responsibilities, prepare work schedules, and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
• Inspect work areas (offices, restrooms, lobbies, stairwells, etc.) to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards.
• Train and guide janitorial staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and proper use of equipment.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and materials are available and properly used; report stock needs.
• Report maintenance needs, damage, or repairs required in work areas to the relevant departments.
• Enforce adherence to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Address staff or client complaints regarding janitorial services and resolve them promptly.
  
• Maintain records of attendance, performance, incidents, and cleaning checklists.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in janitorial or cleaning services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies or urgent cleaning needs.
• Basic literacy for record keeping and report writing.

Preferred:

• OND or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working in facility management, hospitals, schools, or commercial buildings.
• Training in occupational health and safety is an added advantage.
