ISP Field Engineer

Responsibilities:

Installations and Maintenance

• Perform wireless and microwave network installations for residential and enterprise customers.
• Install and configure routers, switches, access points, modems, and other network devices.
• Conduct site surveys to assess feasibility and signal strength for new deployments.
• Carry out fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR testing.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support

• Diagnose and resolve network outages, latency issues, and equipment failures.
• Conduct RF (Radio Frequency) testing, power level checks, and interference analysis.
• Use network monitoring tools to track and rectify faults in real time.
• Work closely with the NOC (Network Operations Center) to resolve escalated technical issues.

Maintenance and Monitoring

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on ISP infrastructure.
• Inspect and maintain fiber optic cables, microwave links, and wireless networks.
• Use network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, MRTG, Wireshark) to detect and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• When reporting at the assigned BTS, ping all enterprise links connected to the BTS and send a weekly BTS uptime maintenance report.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed service records, network diagrams, and maintenance logs.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on field activities and bts maintenance reports.
• Prepare and submit the network monitoring and uptime report
• Document all troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience
• Minimum of HND
