Inventory Officer

Responsibilities:

Stock Control & Monitoring Track:

• Log all incoming and outgoing goods, tools, and raw materials.
• Conduct regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts, reconciling them against database records to identify discrepancies or shrinkage.
• Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking (tying up capital) and stockouts (disrupting sales or projects).
• Inspect incoming deliveries for quality, damage, and verify quantities against purchase orders or packing slips.

Warehousing & Organization:

• Organize and optimize physical store spaces or warehouse layouts so items are securely and accessibly stored.
• Enforce strict access controls to ensure no inventory is removed without proper authorization.
• Properly classify and handle different types of inventory (e.g., Raw Materials, Finished Goods, or MRO supplies).

Reporting & Analysis:

• Update and maintain accurate records in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or spreadsheets.
• Prepare periodic reports for management (e.g., daily receiving summaries, monthly balance reports, and variance logs).
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or expired items and recommend clearance or disposal strategies.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Work closely with the procurement or purchasing team to forecast material needs and place timely orders.
• Coordinate with department heads or project managers to ensure materials are distributed exactly when needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory/store keeping or related role.
• Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to manage stock and inventory efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of inventory software/tools is an added advantage.

Remuneration: NGN 80,000 – 100,000
